Our first speaker of 2018 needed no introduction. On March 8th, over 125 attendees flocked to a packed room at ITC Gardenia, for a rare opportunity to hear and interact with one of the pioneers of Interaction Design and User Experience: Alan Cooper.
If you were wondering who Alan Cooper is, or his connection to Visual Basic or Personas, or about his books (which are recommended reading) or why he is a Fellow at the Computer History Museum’s Hall of Fame – here’s the wikipedia link to get started.
Alan spoke about the long term perspectives, thinking through consequences and envisioning future scenarios – and “thinking like an ancestor”. The bonus was the open, free-flowing Q&A session with attendees after the talk. This was also a great platform to relaunch the Interaction Design Association – or IxDA in Bangalore, which had been dormant for part of 2017-18. Many attendees bought Alan’s books, which he happily signed after the dinner on the 2nd floor terrace garden.
