Akash Chandan

Akash is an experience designer and researcher based in Bangalore.

He currently designs platform experience with empathy & sheer curiosity at Dunzo. His work focuses on understanding the existence of informality in the Indian digital platform economy and designing experiences around its ecosystem.

He’s also been an Urban Fellow at Indian Institute of human settlements, exploring technology’s impact on the urban issues of employment.
During the fellowship, he worked on a qualitative research project “Tempos, Trucks & Tech”. Collating multiple narratives into an interactive word game based on the everyday choices of intra-city logistics drivers.

As a designer, he stands at the intersection of tech & society. He believes that designing around a spectrum of socioeconomic factors like gender, income, caste and identity is what makes technocratic development humane; specifically in the global south.

He is an alumnus of National Institute of Design with a masters in Interaction Design and bachelors from PESIT, Bangalore in Information Science.
